Result: Optimist 8ths 0 Old Williamsonians 7ths 3.

Folkestone started well. They kept their shape and pushed forward. The experience of the Old Wills showed, as every attack was stopped. The Eminent Eights defended two short and a long corner, but got caught on the break and conceded a goal before half time.

HT FOHC 8ths 0-1 Old Wills 7ths.

Change at half time with Joseph Allon moved up front, and Andy Whitham at half back. Folkestone played well for twenty minutes and pushed for a goal. Sadly got to high up the pitch and got caught on the break and Old Wills scored their second. Then towards the end added a third goal from a short corner. The eights nearly got a goal at the end, but the ball was inches away from Barry Lapthorn’s stick.

Final score FOHC 7ths 0-3 Old Wills 7ths.

It was a good first game for the Eighths, the final score did not show the effort they put in to try and get the first goal.
