The ladies 5s game this week was at home in the rain against a young fast Herne Bay team.  We played some great hockey, moving the ball well and creating chances but the Herne Bay defence held strong.  We had to be careful as the Herne Bay forwards were very fast and attacked together as soon as they took possession of the ball.  Kendra C in goal made some important saves with our defence also working hard to win the ball back.  We were awarded our first penalty corner towards the end of the first half and Sarah A stepped up and flicked the ball into the net to put us 1 - 0 up.  We continued to press in the second half with player of the match Lilli C having a great game in midfield.  Well into the second half Hannah D put a lovely ball through to the forwards which was picked up by Griff and slammed into the goal to put us 2 - 0 up. We continued to create more chances towards the end of the game and were unlucky not to score more but a 2 - 0 win nevertheless and another really good team performance.
