This week the ladies 5s played in an inter club league game against the ladies 4s. It was odd to play against another Folkestone side and on the main pitch in front of a supporting crowd. It was always going to be a tough game for the 5s and with the two teams having very different styles of play it was going to be an interesting match. We started well creating chances which were well defended by the 4s. The 4s put pressure on our defence who played brilliantly, but sadly for the 5s the 4s were awarded a rather scrappy goal well into the first half. The 5s didn’t give up and were unlucky not to equalise on a few occasions with some great runs by player of the match Ellie Watkins. The 4s pressure continued and eventually they grabbed another goal well into the 2nd half and the 5s lost their shape a bit. A further goal for the 4s followed just before the end giving them a 3 - 0 win. Both teams performed really well and we look forward to the return fixture.
