The Ops U10 Dolphins travelled to Canterbury for their first triangular of the season. They made a slow but steady start and some excellent link up play and never give up attitude resulted in a 2-0 win over Ashford with goals from Aphra and Darcey. The second game saw the defenders having more work to do but they coped well with some excellent tackling and ball distribution from Poppy and Lucie. This produced opportunities in the D which allowed Darcey, Aphra and Scarlett to pounce resulting in a 3-2 win.
Game 3 vs Canterbury saw goals from Scarlett and Darcey who worked well on the forward line and learnt to use the width of the pitch to attack the D. There was some excellent kicking and shot saving from Alise which saw Ops keep a clean sheet ending with a 2-0 win. The final game against the other Canterbury team was evenly matched and the score was 1-1 for most of the game with an opening goal from Darcey. The midfield and defence worked well to keep the ball out, with Alise making some crucial saves towards the end of the game. Some tenacity in the D from Isla and Aphra produced 2 quick goals to see Ops take a 3-1 win. An excellent performance by the Dolphins showing great work rate and attitude. Thanks to Coach Erin and all the parents for all the support.
