The ladies over 35s travelled to Surbiton for their National Masters quarter final game. Ops had the majority of the possession and opportunities in the first half but were unable to convert their chances to take a lead. Surbiton, who have teams in the National League and have boasted a series of Great Britain players at the club over the years, stepped up their game in the second half and found themselves 2 up through 2 short corners. Ops got themselves back in the game when a through ball from Ash Taylor was picked up by Livy Cheap who weaved her way through the Surbiton defence to get a shot off that was deflected in by Steph Mill. A debatable short corner put Surbiton 3-1 up and a final breakaway when Ops were chasing another goal gave them a fourth and final goal to secure victory. With all of the team having also played on Saturday it was a fantastic effort and a great game of hockey played against a high class opposition.
