Folkestone U18 girls beat Cheltenham & Gloucester 8-0 to book themselves well and truly into the National Cup final. The Ops girls were magnificent on every level, carrying out instructions perfectly and working so brilliantly as a team.
The opening 5 minutes saw the girls come out the traps like caged tigers penning the opposition into the final third. Chance after chance was created before the first blow was struck after 15 minutes, 1-0. The flood gates then opened with three further strikes before half time, 4-0 H/T.
The second half carried on much as the first, with the girls moving the ball with speed, control and poise and the goals duly followed... 8-0 Final score, with goals from Maddie Rich x2, Rosa x2, Betsey, Cleo, Emily & Vic.
No amount of plaudits will do justice to this group of girls, time after time they continue to impress. Their unity, spirit, desire together with an abundance of skill and know how have put them on a stage that is so well deserved! These girls are grounded, they know a tougher test awaits them in the final but I have every faith they will go again and give it their very best shot!
Proud of every one of them! Bring on the 3rd April, its going to be a belter!!
