The u18 girls travelled to a sunny Epsom and came away with an emphatic 6-2 victory. After a carefully choreographed photo shoot in their new team sweatshirts the match got underway. No early lapse in concentration this week as the girls produced a very patient and re-strained opening 10 mins, sizing up the opposition as instructed. Pedal to the metal the girls then went through the gears... goals from Maddie T, Cleo and Maddie Rich giving the girls a deserved 3-0 half time lead.
Second half underway and Epsom quickly got on the score sheet, credit to the girls as they once again went full throttle and added another three goals courtesy of Amelia, Charlotte R and a Maddie Rich special… that would have delighted her entourage!
Special mention for Charlotte P, who though not overworked made a couple of great saves when called upon. A better goalkeeper have we yet seen for someone who’s still 13…!
Final score 6-2.
Despite the score line this performance wasn’t perfect, maybe the girls could have scored more and should have passed the ball better, but this just highlights the high standards they’ve set. It seems they continue to raise the bar and provided they maintain their effort, attitude and application they’ll undoubtedly rise to it!
A pleasure to be around such a great set of girls and parents. The cup draw awaits…
