The U12 Girls had some strong opposition in Canterbury and Maidstone but came away with 2 wins. Game 1 was against a lively Canterbury 1s but with some quick short passing and some great defending from the defensive line, who managed to get the ball out to help Folkestone score 2 brilliant team goals to finish 2-1 up.

Next up was a strong Maidstone 1s who have together for a long time. We struggled to get the ball out of defense but with some lovely passing up the right wing from Elise we put Maidstone on the back foot. Unfortunately Maidstone were just too good and with Folkestone not having a goalie the game ended 5-0 loss.

Game 3 against Maidstone 2 was a better game from Folkestone with us coming back strong after having a break and fueling up. We started off quick keeping Maidstone in their half for the majority of the game just not being able to get past their goalkeeper. With a quick breakaway Maidstone scored leaving the game to finish 1-0 to Maidstone.

Final game of the day was against Canterbury 2s who started out determined but they didn't get through our defensive line. Folkestone then completed a nice play up the left wing with a lovely cross to Lottie who scored. While Folkestone rode that high Canterbury came back strong to equalisemaking the score 1-1 into the final 5 minutes. With a final burst of energy from the Folkestone attack and with a final scrabble Sophie gets the ball over the line making the final score 2-1!

Overall a great first tournament and I can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings! Also a thank you to Emma for coming along and umpiring for us!
