The u12 girls travelled to Maidstone on Sunday where they took on teams from Maidstone, Marden and Sevenoaks. Overall it was a mixed bag of results with wins, draws and losses against teams of contrasting abilities.

Despite being a few players down our girls fought valiantly throughout. Some free flowing hockey at times resulted in goals for Tilly Pollard and Izzy Timmins, whilst some dogged defending combined with great goal-keeping from Emmelia Bates kept score lines respectable against the stronger opposition.

Overall this was a good run out. There were definite signs of progress in some areas whilst clearly a bit more to work on in others. The effort and attitude shown by the girls was faultless, it’s very evident that a strong team spirit is developing which is a really positive sign moving into the second half of the season.

Well done!
