Folkestone started the game really well, dominating the first 10 minutes and putting Herne Bay under plenty of pressure.
Arthur Ireland, on his debut, got on the end of one to put us 1–0 up. A lack of concentration then cost us, though, as Herne Bay won a short corner and converted to make it 1–1.
The game then became very end-to-end, with Herne Bay putting crash ball after crash ball into our circle. Folkestone stuck in there and eventually earned our 6th short corner, which we managed to convert to make it 2–1. Thanks to a leaping crooky on the post!
From there, Folkestone managed the game well, running the clock down nicely and seeing out the final few minutes to finish 2–1 winners.
A good battling performance from everyone and a great result.
