Folkestone started brightly, dominating possession and forcing Herne Bay deep into their defensive third. The pressure soon paid off with a short corner routine that caused chaos in the D. When the initial strike was blocked, Sarah Cheeseman reacted fastest, pouncing on the rebound and firing home to give Folkestone a deserved 1–0 lead.

The momentum only grew from there. Another well-worked short corner saw Rachel Darling deliver a pinpoint ball across the face of goal, where Izzy Timmins was perfectly positioned on the post to tap in the second.

Folkestone returned after the break with the same intensity and cohesion. Their passing play stretched Herne Bay, and the third goal came from open play that showcased the team’s chemistry.
