2nd placed Ops have their fate in their own hands knowing that if they keep winning, promotion will be guaranteed. They entertained a Herne Bay side more than capable of causing an upset. The hosts knew they had to give their best effort from the start and the whole team worked hard to control the early exchanges. They moved the ball fluently around the pitch leaving the visitors chasing shadows. Baxter found it easy to pass through the HB press and find Ops hard running midfielders. Sophie was finding plenty of space and her precision pass released Dani who saw her first time shot deflected wide. Ops kept pressing, and with the entire match being played at the visitors end it was inevitable they would take the lead, the only surprise being how long it took until Phoebe finished with a push to the left corner after a rebound shot from Em. It was an indication of their dominance that the team were disappointed to be only one goal ahead at half time.

This was the game when Ops maintained their performance for the whole game. Geds linked with Flick, who was playing her best game for 3's, to move the ball to Carris who showed great composure to wrong foot the keeper and score in the corner. Herne Bay launched a rare attack, but Sue booted her clearance straight to Shaz to start an attack that went via half the team before Janman tapped in. There was still time for Emma to switch the ball to Izzy who sprinted the length of the pitch and win a penalty corner for Polly to finish with a trademark rocket shot.

So, Ops play their last game next week against New Beccahemians knowing a win means promotion into Division 2.
