Ladies 3s A v Marden Russets

The ladies 3s travelled to Marden Russets for an early push back. Ops started well, finding space out wide and pressing the defence with opportunities coming early on only to be thwarted by the Marden keeper. At the other end the midfield trio of Ella Beggs, Rachel Darling-Dryburgh and Katie Janman worked tirelessly to support the defence and break down the Marden attacks early and leaving the game poised at half time. Marden pressed hard in the second half searching for a goal and a quick free hit caught Ops off guard to grab the lead. Ops didn’t let their heads go down and kept their calm to keep hold of the ball to go for an equalis-er. With less than 2 minutes to play Allegra Hopkinson picked up the ball in the final third of the pitch and beat the Marden defenders on the edge of the D to send the ball across to Em Pullen who finished first time.
