The ladies 2s hosted Maidstone on Saturday and went out with a determination to get a result. In one of their best performances of the season Ops started at a high tempo, transferring the ball across the pitch and finding space to attack the Maidstone defence. While it was Maidstone who took the lead Ops didn’t back down. Some hard running from Evie Little won a short corner which was dispatched Adrienne Rowe to bring the game back to level terms. Ops had their opportunities to take the lead throughout the second half but were unable to find a second goal despite their pressure and excellent movement. A well deserved draw looked on the cards but Ops hearts were broken when pressing for a winner Maidstone turned the ball over and caught Ops on the counter attacking, scoring with less than a minute less to play.
