What a way to start our home campaign — a fantastic 3–0 win over Oxted and another brilliant team performance.

After last week’s 2–1 victory, the girls came into the game full of confidence and determination, and it showed from the first whistle. We moved the ball beautifully through the lines, linked up really well and worked tirelessly for each other all over the pitch.

From a strong, composed defence, through a relentless midfield and into an exciting attack, this was a real whole-squad performance. The work rate, togetherness and support for one another were outstanding.

There was some lovely attacking hockey, with Meg, Allegra and Becky all getting on the scoresheet, while defensively the team stayed disciplined and strong — especially when defending penalty corners.

Becky was deservedly named Player of the Match for her relentless work all over the pitch, while Isla also deserves a special mention for a superb performance.

Most of all, it was the teamwork that stood out. Every player played their part, every player worked for the team and the result reflected that collective effort.
