Folkestone claimed a well-earned 2–0 victory over Tunbridge Wells on a wet and windswept afternoon. After a few attacking breaks from Tunbridge Wells, Folkestone gradually settled, moving the ball smartly through the channels and forcing Tunbridge Wells deeper into their own half. As the first half drew to a close, Folkestone’s pressure finally paid off. A well-worked short corner led to a Tunbridge Wells infringement on the goal line, and on the stroke of half-time the umpire awarded a penalty flick. Steph Mill stepped up with confidence, to give Folkestone a 1–0 lead as the whistle blew. The hosts emerged from the break full of momentum, and within minutes they had doubled their advantage. A sharp passing sequence sliced through the Tunbridge Wells defence, allowing Becky Bird to pounce on a loose ball and fire home from close range. The early second-half goal shifted the rhythm firmly in Folkestone’s favour. This win keeps Folkestone at top of the table with one game left until the Christmas break.
