Folkestone Ladies 1s continued their strong run of form with a composed and well-earned 3–0 victory over Ashford.
The first half saw Folkestone dominate possession and territory, keeping Ashford pinned back in their own half for long spells. Despite creating several promising chances and a number of short corners, the visitors’ defence held firm, and the teams went into the break level at 0–0.
Folkestone, however, showed real maturity and patience after halftime. They maintained their high tempo and confident passing, refusing to let frustration creep in. Their persistence finally paid off when Claire Carter broke the deadlock with a well-taken finish after a spell of sustained pressure.
With the momentum fully in their favour, Folkestone pressed on, and Carter soon doubled her tally with another clinical strike, giving the hosts a comfortable cushion. As Ashford began to tire, Meg Scott sealed the result with a third goal, capping off a dominant second-half performance.
It was a professional display from Folkestone — patient, composed, and full of teamwork. The result reflects the squad’s growing confidence and ability to stay calm under pressure, eventually wearing down a determined Ashford side.
